At least 90% of the students and 90% of each student group (black, white, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged) passed each subject of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). In addition, the school had an annual dropout of 1% or lower overall and for each student group.

RECOGNIZED

At least 70% of students and 70% of each student population group passed each section of the TAKS. The dropout rate was 2.5% or less.

ACCEPTABLE

At least 50% of students passed the reading, writing and social studies section of the TAKS, and 35% in the math section and 25% in the science section. The dropout rate was 5% or less overall for each student population group.

DISTRICT RATINGS

School districts are rated using the same system as individual schools, although the rating of "low performing" is called "academically unacceptable" when applied to entire districts.
