First
settled in 1844, Carrollton is fully
developed business center and
residential community. With more
than half of the city developed, there
is still plenty of room for growth.
Carrollton residents are proud of the
steady corporate growth in their area,
but the city also has taken steps to
preserve its heritage, as evidenced by
the old downtown area with its
gazebo-centered square.
Most residential development has
occurred in the northern part of the
city, which is actually in Denton
County, with major subdivisions of
custom homes. Carrollton has a
mix of new and previously owned
homes in all styles and price
ranges. Bordering several
major highways, Carrollton is a
convenient commute, especially to
DFW International Airport.
The Brookhaven and North Lake
campuses of the Dallas County
Community College District are
located nearby in Farmers Branch and
Irving, respectively. Nearby
in Denton, you'll find the
University of North Texas and Texas
Woman's University. |
